Independent inspections, from my construction perspective

Construction experience. An independent perspective.

I’m Darren Buckley, Washington-licensed and InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, serving Kitsap, Pierce and nearby communities.

Construction knowledge is the foundation of my approach.
I bring hands-on construction and detail-repair experience to my inspection work.I hold Washington home inspector license #966, InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector status, and IAC2 certification.I inspect independently for the customer and do not repair homes I inspect.

I’m Darren Buckley, founder of High Definition Home Inspections. I started this work to help people make informed decisions about the homes they buy, sell, build, or own. After years in the construction trades, I saw how rushed work and overlooked details could become costly problems for homeowners. I bring that practical perspective to independent inspections across Kitsap and Pierce Counties and nearby parts of the Olympic Peninsula and Puget Sound. My role is to give you clear observations and a useful basis for next steps, not to sell repairs.

Our Story

High Definition Home Inspections was founded in 2013 with a simple mission: to help homebuyers and homeowners make informed decisions about one of their largest investments.

My journey into home inspections began after spending many years working in the construction industry. Early in my career, I worked alongside a builder constructing custom homes, gaining valuable hands-on experience and an appreciation for quality craftsmanship.

Later, I joined a different construction company working on a large residential development, where I witnessed firsthand how rushed construction schedules and tight deadlines could compromise the quality of workmanship.

I was eventually assigned to a detail team responsible for addressing construction deficiencies and completing repairs requested by homeowners. Through this experience, I gained a better understanding of the challenges homeowners face and the importance of identifying potential problems before they become costly repairs.

I realized there was an opportunity to put my construction experience to work in a way that could truly benefit homeowners.

That's what led me to establish High Definition Home Inspections.

Today, I bring that same attention to detail and commitment to quality to every inspection. My goal isn't simply to identify deficiencies, but to help my clients better understand the condition of their homes, recognize potential concerns, and move forward with confidence.

At High Definition Home Inspections, I believe a thorough inspection, clear communication, and honest service make all the difference.

What an inspection can tell you

An inspection shows visible conditions on a particular day, helps you ask informed questions, and can guide your next steps. I explain my observations in plain language and distinguish significant concerns from routine ownership considerations. I cannot predict every future problem or reveal conditions hidden behind finished surfaces, but a clear account of what I observed can help you decide what to do next.

Your inspection is for you

I work for the customer who hires me. My role is to report observations, not promote a transaction or sell repairs, and I do not repair homes I inspect. If a finding needs closer evaluation or correction, I can explain what I observed so you can decide whether to consult a qualified specialist.

I hold Washington home inspector license #966, am an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, and hold IAC2 certification. My preparation includes inspection education and practical construction experience. An inspection is a visual, non-invasive assessment within its stated scope; it is not an engineering opinion.

Working across my Western Washington communities

I serve Kitsap and Pierce Counties, the Olympic Peninsula, and the Puget Sound area, including Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Silverdale, Tacoma, Poulsbo, and nearby communities. Homes vary, and age, construction, condition, and access affect what I can observe at each property.

If you are unsure whether I cover your location, contact me with the general location, property type, and service you are considering. I can confirm coverage and discuss access or scheduling details before you make plans.

What you can expect at the appointment

A typical inspection takes two to three hours, depending on the property. I encourage you to attend, ask questions, and hear my findings reviewed in context. If you cannot be there, ask me when scheduling how I can review the detailed findings with you afterward.

Before the visit, coordinate access with the owner, seller, builder, or agent, and tell me about access limits, known concerns, or other services you would like to discuss. I report visible, accessible conditions on the inspection date. My inspection is not destructive testing, a code-compliance determination, or a guarantee against future defects.

Questions before you book

What do your license and certifications mean?

I hold Washington home inspector license #966 and am an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector; you can find my CPI listing through InterNACHI. I also hold IAC2 certification. These credentials do not make my inspection an engineering opinion, health diagnosis, or guarantee.

Do you also make repairs?

No. I do not repair homes I inspect. Keeping inspection and repair work separate supports my independent role. If an observation needs evaluation or correction, I can describe the concern so you can choose a qualified professional for follow-up.

To discuss an inspection, call (360) 620-8946 or email [email protected]. Tell me the property’s location, your role in the transaction, and what you hope to learn. I can help identify a suitable service and arrange the next step.
